Frequently asked questions

Everything tradespeople ask before putting Scan Yer Van on the van.

How does Scan Yer Van work?

You put a QR code sticker on each side of the van you choose. When someone scans it, they land on a page showing your business and your van — so they know it's genuine — then reach you in one tap: call, text, WhatsApp, email, or straight to your website. You choose which comes first.

Can I put a QR code on my work van?

Yes — that's what Scan Yer Van is for. We print waterproof, gloss-laminated QR code stickers for your van and post them to you. Anyone who scans one reaches you in one tap: call, text, WhatsApp, email or your website.

Is a QR code sticker a good way to advertise on my van?

It works alongside your signwriting rather than replacing it. Your van is already seen all day; a QR code sticker lets people act on it there and then — call, text or WhatsApp you in one tap — and shows you how many did. Unlike a painted-on number, you can change where it points any time, with no reprint.

How much does a QR code sticker for a van cost?

Stickers aren't part of your plan. They're a one-off, typically £25.00 for a van (three stickers: a rear A5 and an A6 on each side), printed and posted, inc. VAT. The price for every size and quantity is on the Plans page.

What size should a QR code be on a van?

Our QR code stickers come in three sizes: Compact (A6, about 10 × 15 cm), Standard (A5, about 15 × 21 cm) and Large (A4, about 21 × 30 cm). A typical van has a Standard on the back and a Compact on each side; a bigger sticker is easier to scan from further away.

Do I need a website?

No. If you don't have one, your contact page becomes a one-tap contact card — call, text, WhatsApp or email — so the van itself is your online presence. You can add a website or booking link later if you ever want one.

What do people see when they scan?

A page confirming your business name and van — including your number plate — so they know the code is genuine. Then one tap to reach you: call, text, WhatsApp, email or your website, depending on what you've set.

Can I see what people did after scanning?

Yes. Your dashboard shows what people did after scanning — how many called, texted, messaged or went on to your website — alongside how often you were scanned, and roughly where when the person scanning chooses to share their location.

Is it just for trades?

No. It started with trades, but it suits any business whose van gets seen — motorhome and van hire, dog walkers, mobile mechanics, couriers, food vans, driving instructors and more.

What do I get with a subscription?

A branded contact page set up as a one-tap contact card or to send people straight to your website, a dashboard showing what people did — and roughly where you were scanned, when people choose to share their location — and MOT and tax reminders. Stickers aren't part of your plan. They're a one-off, typically £25.00 for a van (three stickers: a rear A5 and an A6 on each side), printed and posted, inc. VAT.

Where on the van can the stickers go?

Each van can carry up to four stickers — the passenger side (nearside), the driver's side (offside), the back and the front — all linked to your business. How many vans you can cover depends on your plan (Solo, Pro or Fleet).

I already have signwriting or a van wrap — does this still work?

Yes. The QR sticker works alongside your existing signwriting or wrap — it doesn't replace them. It's a small sticker that goes on any clear part of the van, and it adds three things printed branding can't: one-tap contact (call, text or your own link), the freedom to change where it points whenever you like, and a dashboard showing what people did. A painted-on phone number can't be updated or measured — this can.

Can I use it on more than one van?

Yes — every plan can cover more than one van. Solo covers up to 3, Pro up to 13 and Fleet up to 50 online, and bigger fleets by arrangement. Check the Plans page for what each plan includes.

Can I change how people reach me?

Yes — from your dashboard, any time. Point the code at your website, booking page or socials, or set your page to lead with call, text or WhatsApp instead. Any web links are checked for safety.

How much does it cost?

Solo is £6.00 a month, Pro is £15.00 a month, Fleet is £40.00 a month, including VAT. Stickers aren't part of your plan. They're a one-off, typically £25.00 for a van (three stickers: a rear A5 and an A6 on each side), printed and posted, inc. VAT. Stickers are paid with your first payment. There's no contract.

Can I cancel?

Yes — any time, from your dashboard. There's no contract. Your plan runs to the end of the period you've paid for and we don't refund part-periods; after that your stickers stop working. Stickers are made to order, so they can't be refunded once they've gone to print.

How long do the stickers take to arrive?

Most orders arrive within about 7–10 working days. They're printed to order in the UK by our print partner and posted to you, ready to apply. Your contact page is live from the day you sign up.

Are the high-vis stickers reflective?

No. High-vis stickers are fluorescent — very bright in daylight — but they are not reflective at night. Our print partner rates fluorescent stickers for up to 6 months outdoors, so expect to replace them about twice a year. Standard stickers are waterproof, gloss-laminated and made for outdoor use.

Can I see who scanned my van?

No — and nor can we. You see how many people scanned, when, and which button they tapped. You see roughly where only if the person scanning chose to share their location. Nobody is ever identified.

Is my data safe?

Your vehicle registration is encrypted, we handle personal data under UK GDPR, and we set only essential cookies. See our Privacy Policy for the detail.
